Federal Tax Calculations

For a married couple, does ESPlanner use the "Married Filing Jointly" tax tables or does it also calculate "Married Filing Separately" and then selects the lower tax option?
Thanks

It uses Married Filing Jointly.

If a client is married but filing separately, how do we indicate this in ESPlanner? Do we use the partnered radio button when setting up the family?

Hello - I too would appreciate an answer to this question! Is there a workaround if I want to indicate Married filing separately?

I'll have to ask on that one.

ESPlanner uses married filing jointly for all married couples, it does not support married filing separately.
Selecting partnered will calculate taxes as 2 single people.

You'd need to calculate married filing separately on the side and use special expenses or receipts to adjust ESPlanner's tax calculations.
