Will Esplanner be updated since all focus seems to be on MaxiFiPlanner?

Yes, indeed a new update is in beta and should be released in the next few weeks. We've been saying that for months, but the programmers are redesigning the Monte Carlo and that took much longer than they anticipated. That said, all the new development is going toward MaxiFi, yes. The Visual Basic platform of ESPlanner is limited to Windows and is not supported or further developed by Microsoft. So the web-based version is the future. But we'll keep ESPlanner updated for taxes etc.

Is it possible to issue an update that covers everything else, except Monte Carlo? To be holding up an update for all other things when the last update was over nine months ago seems unnecessary.

Hi Dan,
I also concur that the last update to fix the problem I addressed in April 2017 has been too long. That problem resulted in incorrect spousal Social Security benefits when I modeled a percent reduction in future SS benefits. When I posted this as a support ticket, NID 1719, Mike O’Conner responded, “I'm running an updated version of ESPlanner, in which Darryl already fixed this problem.“
I applaud the transition to MaxiFi but I’m concerned that not all of the options available in ESPlanner will be available. Can you address this concern?
Thanks
James Mavrogenis

I have this concern also, and look forward to the reply.

In addition to getting all the calculation functions of ESPlanner into MaxiFi Planner, I would like to see MaxiFi Planner allow for multiple "what if" profiles to be created and saved, similar to the way ESPlanner lets you copy a profile and Save As.

From our programmer Darryl:

We are finally in the home stretch for the next release. All major hurdles are resolved. A new Beta will be available tomorrow and I can make that available to James if he'd like. The full public release is planned for November 30th, so you can share that with users as well.

We will do another release early January with updates to any available tax/SS/returns data. Beyond that we should be back to a more normal release schedule and will avoid getting ourselves into the bottleneck we had this year.

Dan, Can you please send me a link to the beta release that Darryl referred to?
Thanks
James Mavrogenis

I'll trigger that in your account so you should see it in My Downloads.

Will the next release be made available today (11/30/2017) as planned?

Just to clarify: The current available release is not out of date with regard to taxes and SS. The new tax brackets and so annual adjustments will be available by and included in the early Jan. release.

Dan, Darryl,
Thanks for making the Beta version available. So far I have not found any anomolies nor do I expect to find any.
Thanks!
James Mavrogenis

Thanks James. Darryl is telling me it could now be another week or two since one beta tester found a few minor issues.

ESPlanner 2.36.0 is now publicly available. The release notes are available here: http://www.esplanner.com/esplanner-2360

I have made the switch to Maxifi and I love it. However i received the monte carlo update for esplanner. I do not plan to use esplanner any longer so I don't want to make another subscription payment except for maxifi. how can i close my esplanner subscription?
