that act lets me exclude $250k for single person OFF the capital gains. How do I indicate this in esplanner

This exclusion is programmed into the software so there's nothing you need to do to take advantage of that cap gains tax relief.

You also have an Alt Min Tax
You also have an Alt Min Tax applied that year.
