Approximately 6% of my investments are in gold bullion self directed IRA. How should I account for this in Esplanner? Is there an established return rate for gold? Thanks!

According to a backtest on that asset at http://portfoliovisualizer.com Gold has a compound annual growth rate of 7.59% since 1972 (with a standard deviation of 20.31%). The S&P 500 for comparison sake is 9.89% with less volatility of 16.9%.

But in ESPlanner in Economics Mode you are indicating the average return on the total portfolio you want to assume going forward you should probably maybe make an assumption about the future returns on your entire portfolio. That link above would allow you to backtest your portfolio and get some sense of your return for the past which would help you make an assumption about going forward.
